CHEZ JEAN

Chez Jean Dairy Twirl announced in January 2024, that after fifty-five years the business would be put up for sale so that the owner, Jean le Blanc could retire. This decision was made following the development of a succession plan and a long evaluation of the options available for continuing the business.

A number of individuals, organizations and enterprises contacted Jean seeking further information about purchasing Chez Jean the business, or Chez Jean the

building and prime real estate it stood on. Knowing that the business as it presently operated would have a difficult time funding the purchase; Jean had hoped that any new operator would introduce a new business model to ensure its continued success.

A number of factors made it evident early in the process that this scenario would be unlikely to occur. At this point a potential buyer came forward with an offer to purchase the building. Knowing the buyer to be local, and an asset to the community, made the decision to explore this offer easier. The process of due diligence necessary to complete the sale is in process, and barring any unforeseen circumstances Chez Jean will be sold in May 2024.
